Iltutmish is said to be the real founder of the Delhi Sultanate.

The reign of Iltutmish lasted for 26 years from 1210 AD to 1236 AD.

He was the son-in-law and slave of Qutubuddin Aibak.

Before becoming the Sultan of Delhi, Iltutmish was the Subedar of Badaun.
